Rentokil’s Branch in Libya is undertaking a 3 year rodent control program in partnership with the Ministry for Public Utilities in the cities of Tripoli, Misratah & Benghazi.
Rentokil was contracted as part of this programme to assume complete responsibility for the control of rats in the major cities of Tripoli, Misratah and Benghazi for a 3 year period. Former members of the Ministry’s in-house teams have joined Rentokil on a 3 year secondment to support the contract, working alongside a team of 32 experts from the UK.

The role of Pest Control in public health is to prevent the spread of disease spread by animal vectors, but in doing so it also has a significant benefit in preventing the contamination of food and drink by pests.
Monitoring, treatment and control of vector borne diseases should be part of any comprehensive public health policy. However, this is an area expertise that is difficult to develop without external support.
